This communication discusses Hume’s causal instinct as a schematic system for causal cognition embedded in our cognitive system, and as part of the conceptual structuring system of language.

Time is not a unitary notion or property but a complex, processual, and multidimensional cognitive representation that looks consistent with a dynamical conception of the world but denies both Presentism and Eternalism.
